Money-saving Opportunity

No-cost fundraiser coming to Annunciation!!

How would you like to raise money for our church without having to contribute a penny and walk away with cash in your pocket besides?  You can by participating in our Cash for Precious Metals fundraiser!

How it works:

• You bring your unwanted gold, silver, and platinum jewelry, coins, flatware, etc. to our event.
• An appraiser will meet with you privately to weigh your items and let you know what they are worth, based on the current market price of the metal you are selling.
• If you choose to sell your items, you will receive cash on the spot.
• Annunciation receives a check for at least 10% of the appraisers’ net purchases from the event.  The more they buy, the higher our percentage back.

Start gathering your unwanted items now – condition doesn’t matter!  Our event will take place in the lower church on Sunday, August 15, starting at 11:30 a.m. and will run until at least 2:00 p.m.  Reservations are not required, but are suggested so we can have an adequate number of appraisers on hand and keep wait times to a minimum.

Do you have 1 to 1½ hours to spare a week?  Have you wondered what you could do as a volunteer for your church?  Here is a suggestion:  We are in great need of volunteers to teach or aide in our religious education classes on Monday/Tuesday afternoons and Monday evenings.  Our needs are as follows:

Monday Afternoon, 4:30-5:30:  5 aides, 1 Grade 6 teacher
Monday Evening, 7:15-8:45:  1 aide, 2 Grade 7 teachers, 2 Grade 8 teachers
Tuesday Afternoon, 4:30-5:30:  5 aides, 2 Grade 3 teachers, 1 Grade 6 teacher

Substitute catechists are welcome for all sessions.  This need is greater during the winter months.

As you may know, our Religious Education Program is operated primarily by volunteers.  We rely on the generosity of you, our parishioners, to run the program.

Our recycling fundraiser continues! We collect cell phones, ink jet cartridges, BlackBerrys. PDAs, laptop computers, MP3 players, digital cameras, digital video cameras, portable DVD players, handheld game consoles, radar detectors, GPS Devices, and ebook readers! Collection bins are located in the Gathering Space and at the Parish Center. Recycling is good for the environment and good for our church!
